About

The Writing with Grace Retreat is centered on the truth that all that we have to offer and share with others stems from knowing the love of Christ in our own lives.

As we abide in Christ, we are able to write from a place of peace and purpose, knowing that our words matter in light of eternity because they are grounded in Truth.

During the Writing with Grace Retreat, you will spend time learning from experts in the publishing industry, participate in writing prompts and exercises to spur your creativity, spend time with other writers, and still your heart before the Lord. If you are interested, you will have the opportunity to pitch your book idea to an agent or editor.

The ministry of Writing with Grace was founded in 2015 by Ann Swindell, a writer, speaker, and the author of Still Waiting (Tyndale, 2017). Hundreds of students from around the globe have taken Ann’s faith-based writing courses, and out of these classes, a desire was born for an in-person retreat where like-hearted writers could meet and learn, together, about the calling of being a writer. Thus, the Writing with Grace Retreat was born.

Come and join us for a life-giving weekend full of hope, truth, and practical wisdom for the writing life. This is an all-inclusive weekend, so once you get to the retreat center, you won’t have to worry about a thing—meals, sessions, lodging, and even gifts will all be taken care of for you!

We can’t wait to see you there!

No. Due to the insurance requirements at our retreat center, infants are unable to stay at the center.

Travel arrangements will need to be made on your own, but we will have a retreat Facebook group where you can find other women to carpool with and will share information about shuttles that are available from local airports.

What airport should I fly into?

Both O'Hare International Airport and Midway Airport in Chicago are within easy driving distance to the retreat center (30-45 minutes). Either one is a great choice!

Just reach out to us at WritingwithGraceCourse@gmail.com if you're transferring a ticket.
